Angels of Health merges with Above & Beyond recognition program

St. Margaret Foundation's Angels of Health program and UPMC St. Margaret's Above & Beyond program have merged to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary individuals who are raising the bar in patient care at UPMC St. Margaret. Through the new Above & Beyond program, patients, visitors, employees, physicians, and volunteers will be able to recognize a special member of the hospital staff - their 'angel of health' --who made a difference in their hospital experience. Those submitting a nomination will have the opportunity to make a donation to the Foundation in a staff member's honor.

When caregivers provide extraordinary support and compassionate care during hospitalization, many patients and family members want to express their gratitude and appreciation. As one UPMC St. Margaret caregiver noted, "Providing compassionate support is part of being a caregiver. That's what we do. Learning that we've made a real difference to a patient is the greatest reward we could receive."

Congratulations to the Above & Beyond 'angels' named in November 2009:
